Don’t worry if you are overweight or very unfit! So too are many of our ladies when they start. There are no mirrors at Gymophobics and no Lycra leotards either. Come along in loose clothing and enjoy the relaxed ‘intimidation-free’ environment. There are no showers either, so there is no need to undress. You won’t sweat, so you can even attend in your lunchtime if you prefer.On your guest visit, you will be shown around and we will answer all of your questions. We will even tell you what results you can expect and what it will take you to achieve your ideal figure. Most ladies visit us 2 or 3 times each week for a 30 minute session. If you decide to enrol, we will book you in for an induction. This usually takes an hour and is a one to one session with a qualified instructor who has been trained at our own training academy. Thereafter, each time you come along an instructor will ensure that you know exactly what you are doing and will gradually upgrade your programme as you gain in fitness and confidence.

Every 10 weeks you will be booked in for a re-assessment which will show the results you have achieved. Expect to be amazed! We can sculpt your figure and ensure that inches are lost from all the right places. Your metabolism will speed up and you will burn excess fat from all over your body. The Four Ages of Gymophobics
One thing that strikes visitors to Gymophobics for the first time is the incredible mixture of ages. Not only do members come in all different shapes and sizes, but they vary in age far more than in ‘conventional’ gyms.Whilst most members in a conventional gym are in their mid twenties, at Gymophobics the mix is much greater. More and more mothers and daughters now attend and increasingly so are their Grandmothers! Ages range from as young as twelve to members in their eightees!
And, why not? Gymophobics (people who don’t like Gymnasiums) come in all ages, shapes and sizes. So, what attracts people who would never go to a conventional gym? Members come up with many answers including the friendliness, the close personal attention of staff, the ‘air resistance’ equipment which makes exercise so easy, the fact that it takes 30 minutes and is an all female environment, the focus on weight loss and figure improvement and the fast results. The most common answer however, is that most women find conventional gyms quite ‘intimidating’, but at Gymophobics they can feel quite relaxed.
We surveyed members of different ages to find out what their primary goals were and the table below is a broad summary of what they told us.
